FBI Searches Home For Ricin Clues

Neighbors Close To Home Evacuated

The investigation into ricin found inside a Las Vegas motel room continues to unfold.

FBI agents searched a Utah home linked to Roger Von Bergendorff -- the focus of the investigation.

The home is now ground zero for a ricin saga that began unfolding last week in Las Vegas.

People are keeping a close eye on the nondescript home, and they want to know what federal agents have found.

The FBI is not saying much about their probe of Tom Tholen's home, other than to call it a slow, methodical process.

They have not said if they found ricin in the home or if they are even looking for ricin.

FBI officials said they have more questions than answers. They want to know how two vials of ricin wound up in Von Bergendorff's motel room, and if there's any connection to Tholen's home --a place where Von Bergendorff lived for about a year in 2006.

As for Tholen, Von Bergendorff's cousin, the FBI said the man who actually found the ricin in Las Vegas is cooperating.

The Ewell family was not expecting to have 30 minutes to pack and leave at 7 a.m. on a Sunday.

Theirs was one of three homes evacuated near the Tholen house, where hazmat teams searched for the deadly toxin, ricin.

The Ewells remember when Von Bergendorff lived across the street, and they hated to think he may have manufactured a lethal toxin so close to home.

After hours of uncertainty, deputies lifted the 'voluntary' evacuation, allowing families like the Ewells to go home.
