LAS VEGAS -- Metro police have released some new information about a teen driver who is being held in custody in connection with the death of a Palo Verde student.Ezekiel Williams, 18, is expected to be in court Monday morning to ask a judge for bail. Police said Williams was the driver in the drive-by shooting death of Chris Privett near Palo Verde High School. His attorney will ask for Williams' release on his own recognizance. But the district attorney presented a list of reasons why Williams should remain behind bars to the court Tuesday, saying Williams does pose a threat if he was to be released.According to the attorney's petition, Williams was arrested six months ago for having a dangerous or deadly weapon and an open container in a car. Also a friend of Williams' told police that the night before the Palo Verde shooting, Williams was with friends bowling at Texas Station. Later that evening, the friend said Williams fired multiple shots at six people, but no one was hit.
And according to a statement by Gerald Davison -- the teen who police said shot Privett -- Williams gave him the gun to shoot at a group of boys taunting the girls riding with them. Davison said the gun was stored by Williams' feet in the car and that Williams asked him three times if "He was going to shoot them (the boys)." It was that shooting that eventually led to Privett's death.
