1 Dead, 1 Critical After School Shootings

LAS VEGAS -- After two school shootings within an hour of each other, Metro police said one teen is dead and another is in critical condition.The first happened just after 1:30 p.m. near Pavilion Center and Alta drives. A ninth-grade student was found near Palo Verde High School with a gunshot wound. Police said he has died of his injuries.A second shooting happened outside of Whitney Elementary near Tropicana Avenue and Boulder Highway just after 2 p.m.Four adults were arguing outside of the school when one vehicle pulled up and fired at the group, witnesses said. Police said one person was shot and is in critical condition at a Valley hospital. A teen has been arrested in connection with the shooting, police said.
