LAS VEGAS -- The flight frenzy kicked off for millions of people Friday.McCarran Airport was packed with travelers leaving and visiting Las Vegas.Several parking lots at the airport were already full. Travelers should leave early, because it could take an extra 30 minutes to find parking spots at the airport.About 1.5 million travelers are expected to pass through McCarran Airport between now and New Year’s Day.The airport's long-term parking garage is expected to be full for most of the holiday period.At last check, the green lot on Paradise Road, just south of Tropicana Avenue, was still open.Shuttles will run continuously from the lots to the airport's terminals.For up-to-the-minute parking information, call the 24-hour hot line at 261-5122.Travelers should also find out if their flights are leaving on time before heading to the airport.
