Hospital officials said that only one teen remains in critical condition after six were shot during a bus stop shooting. One is still in serious condition while three have been upgraded to good condition and one male has been discharged from University Medical Center.

The shooting happened just before 2 p.m. Tuesday near Walnut and Alexander roads.

Students said they were exiting a school bus from Mojave High School when two teens shot six to 10 rounds at fellow riders. One girl and five boys were injured, two of whom were shot in the stomach and the rest in extremities.

The two students who were shot in the torso have been listed in critical condition, paramedics said. They did not say how the other four teens were doing, but all of them were receiving treatment at UMC within 30 minutes of the shooting, emergency crews said.

Police are still searching for the two shooters, but they have lifted lockdown orders on Cox Elementary.

Unconfirmed reports from students said the shooting may have resulted from a gang-related argument Monday on the same bus route.
