Police, Hotels Get Terrorism Training

Military, Security Personnel Also Get Trained

The nation's leading tactical trainers from law enforcement, military and security are in Las Vegas for a week of intensive anti-terrorism/force protection training.

The United States National Standards of Training Association is hosting its 8th Annual U.S.N.S.T.A. National Training Conference now through Dec. 14 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino at 3700 W. Flamingo Road.

This event brings together trainers and instructors from across the nation and from all sectors of military, law enforcement and security.

At the conference, the U.S.N.S.T.A. identifies training needs and develops necessary solutions.

Attendees represent a variety of agencies working to secure our homeland and protect our communities, including: U.S. Department of Defense; U.S. Department of Homeland Security; U.S. Federal, State, Local Law Enforcement and Corrections; Private and Casino Security and Protective Services.

Agencies from Nevada include: Metro Police; Nye County Sheriff's Office; Eighth Judicial District Court; U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Police and Elko Police Department.

Hotel and casino security representatives from Harrah's, Caesars Palace, Rio, Imperial Palace, Bally's, Flamingo, The Venetian and Tao Nightclub are also attending.
