Gas Prices Rise Across State
New Prices Put Nevada Fourth In Nation

RENO, Nev. -- State gas prices are keeping pace with the soaring price of crude oil internationally, rising 13 cents to $2. 92 cents a gallon statewide in the past month.Michael Geeser, a spokesman for AAA, said the numbers put Nevada fourth in the contiguous United States -- behind California, Washington and Montana and tied with New York.The national average is $2.76, up 3 cents for a gallon of regular unleaded.In Nevada, Reno tops the list at $3.12 a gallon, followed by Sparks at $3.08, Carson City at $3 and Las Vegas at $2.81.
Nationally, the gas bargain is $2.49 in Monmouth, New Jersey, Kansas City and St. Louis. Nevadans planning a trip to Lake Tahoe would be wise to gas up before they leave. The steepest price in the lower 48 is $3.29 at Tahoe City, Calif.
