The search for a man police consider a suspect in the sexual abuse of a young girl has shifted back to Las Vegas.

After receiving 4,500 tips from across the country, Nye County detectives said the little girl they have been searching for has been found alive and safe. She currently lives with her mother who, officers said, did not know of the assault or the search until the end of this week. A family friend recognized the belongings in the room and notified the child's mother to contact authorities.

Authorities said that the tape was created in 2004 in Las Vegas. They said the girl was 3 years old at the time. Since the tape was created in Clark County, Metro police officers will now take over the search for Chester Arthur Stiles, 37, who is now wanted in connection with the attack of the girl.

Officers admit they can only release a limited amount of information on Stiles. He is currently wanted on a warrant from Clark County on charges of lewdness with a minor under the age of 14, and police said he has a lengthy arrest record.

Police said that if anyone has any information on the location of Stiles, call the Las Vegas Metro Police Department at 702-828-3111 or CrimeStoppers at 702-385-5555.

Nye County Sheriff's Office said they will continue to lead the investigation into the facts surrounding the discovery of the video and its ultimate surrender to authorities.
