Father: Son Guilty Of Being Stupid

Son Responsible For Turning In Sexual Assault Tape

UPDATED: 12:08 pm PDT October 2, 2007

Nye County police are still investigating Darrin Tuck. Tuck, 26, turned over the now infamous sexual assault tape that spawned a nationwide manhunt.

Now, Tuck's father is talking to FOX5 about his son and the charges against him.

"He found it in the desert," Tuck's father said. "He's not lying."

Tuck's father, who did not want to be identified, said his son fears the worst. He said his son does not know the man or girl in the video. The elder Tuck said his son hopes by agreeing to this polygraph test he can prove his innocence.

"He knows nothing about them," he said. "If guilty, he's guilty of being stupid."

Tuck is scheduled to take the polygraph test Friday in Las Vegas.

Police are still searching for the man and girl in the tape. They released over 15 images from the tape Wednesday. Investigators said that thanks to the media coverage, they have had several breaks in the case, including the identity of a second, older girl featured in another scene of the tape.

Officers ask that if you have any information, call the Nye County Sheriff's Office at the 775-751-7000.
