LAS VEGAS -- O.J. Simpson is one step closer to leaving Las Vegas -- at least, temporarily. Simpson has been released from the Clark County Detention Center. His lawyer, Yale Galanter, would not confirm where Simpson was headed, but said he will be spending time with his family.A Clark County judge set a stipulation bail of $125,000 for Simpson Wednesday. According to court proceedings, the attorneys in this case prearranged the bail on cash assuredly, or the guarantee of a cash bond.Court officials ordered Simpson to surrender his passport and not have any contact with any co-defendants or prosecution's witnesses whatsoever, nor be allowed to ask a third-party to contact.Simpson was arrested Sept. 16 following an alleged armed robbery attempt at Palace Station Hotel-Casino. After the arrest, the district attorney filed two different cases against Simpson -- along with the other co-defendants -- containing nearly a dozen charges. Simpson entered no plea during the proceedings.
There will be a case status check on Oct. 16 and 17. Simpson's next court appearance is set for the week of Oct. 22.
