Members of the Culinary Workers Union Local 226 and the Bartenders Union Local 165 voted overwhelmingly to a approve the contract with the Riviera Hotel & Casino.

The new contract closely resembles the contract achieved with Harrah's Entertainment in June. It provides workers with pay increases and certain benefit increases, as well guaranteed gratuity for certain union workers. This current contract will be in effect for five years.

The Culinary Workers Union Local 226 represents over 60,000 workers including hotel and casino workers on the Strip and at Downtown, as well as workers at McCarran Airport.

The new contract covers approximately 1,000 workers at the Riviera. Over 30,000 culinary members are still working under extended contracts.
