Clark County Opens 11 New Schools

LAS VEGAS -- Officials with the Clark County School District are celebrating the opening of 11 new schools.The new sites include six new elementary schools, one replacement elementary school, two new middle schools, one replacement middle school and a new career and technical academy high school."The growth is relentless around here," said Paul Gerner, associate superintendent of facilities for CCSD. "It looks like it's just going at 10 or 12 schools a year as far as we can see."Officials said they are expecting 12,000 more students to enroll in the 2007 to 2008 school year, bringing the total student population to more than 314,000.
