Officials with the Clark County School District are creating a study group to revise the current academic calendar.

Superintendent Walt Rulffes said the volunteer group will be asked to review the components of a year-round school calendar and make recommendations to his office. Rulffes said the group will discuss academic achievement, family consideration, costs and other issues that would impact decisions concerning year-round schools.

Officials said the group will be comprised of six parents and three non-parent community stakeholders, which will be selected from the application pool.

For more information on the group, visit the Clark County School District's Web site, or call 702-799-5301. Applications are due by Aug. 23 in the Superintendent's office at 5100 West Sahara Ave.
