The family of a man who was found dead in the trunk of a car is still in shock.

Las Vegas police discovered the body of a man inside of a white Acura near Tenaya Way and Alexander Road. The man has now been identified as Joey Doem, 25.

According to the coroner’s reports, Doem was shot multiple times in the head and torso and then stuffed in the trunk of a stolen car. Las Vegas police said the car was then left inside a trailer at the Quail Tree Apartments several miles from his house. Police said Doem was found when the rightful owner of the trailer spotted his property and called police.

Investigators said that they are still searching for suspects in this homicide.

Doem’s sister, Angela Doem, does not understand who could have done this to her brother, who left behind a 5-year-old son.

"I just can't imagine anybody could do something like this to someone like my brother to take him away from his family,” said Doem. “It’s just disgusting. I can't even think about it."

Doem said that her current goal is to stay strong for their mother and her nephew. She also said that the last time she saw him alive was when their mother dropped him at his girlfriend’s house.

“Joey was really soft-hearted and loved fixing cars,” said Doem. “He loved his family and would do anything for anybody.”
