Winter's last gasp seems more like summer in Las Vegas.

Record high temperatures are expected for a fourth straight day on Friday and could extend through the weekend in the Las Vegas area.

The high temperature on Thursday reached 87 degrees, breaking a record of 84 degrees set in 1994. Forecasters said temperatures in the region probably will return to near-normal mid-70s until Tuesday, just in time for the first day of Spring on Wednesday.

Meteorologists predict a high temperature near 90 for Friday, which would eclipse the record of 84 degrees. The National Weather Service said Thursday's overnight low of 61 degrees also set a record for the warmest low temperature for a March 15. The previous record was 51 degrees, set in 2004.
