MEET THE DREAM TEAM

JEN ADAMS, Home Editor President, Jennifer Adams Design Group

Jennifer Adams Design Group was created by Jennifer to fulfill a dream. Nine years in the making, this Oregon-based business was a young designer’s chance to bring her creative prowess to the forefront of the designing industry.

Originally from Portland, Jennifer capitalized on her unique marketplace creating a perfect start to what is now becoming a nationally acclaimed design team. Over the years, Jennifer's amassed experience in both residential and commercial designs naturally emanated into interior design for Portland’s chic Pearl District as well as various other high-end ventures.

In 2006, Jennifer’s national reputation began to percolate as she became one of Home and Garden Television’s head designers for “My First Place”, a design series for first time home buyers. Acting as a catalyst to her career, Portland’s FOX affiliate recognized her on-air talent and made Jennifer a DREAM TEAM member of their daily women’s magazine, “MORE! Good Day Oregon”. FOX moved quickly and Jennifer soon found herself part of the Las Vegas DREAM TEAM; an opportunity to break into a new broadcast territory. Shortly after she began filming, Portland’s renowned KXL Radio summoned Jennifer and made her their design expert for a weekly radio program “The Mortgage Report”, where she provides design expertise to homeowners.

Jennifer’s design endeavors continue to expand beyond The Great Northwest. With an office opening in the Los Angeles/San Francisco area in 2008, Jennifer Adams Designs is rapidly growing. Most recently her work has centralized in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she is currently working on 7,200 square foot Tuscan home located above a golf course, yet overlooking Vegas’s fabulous strip. With eyes for the countryside and a passion to expand her business, Jennifer most recently landed the host position for “The Good Life”, a Las Vegas-based designing segment in which Jennifer will lend her on-air team into high-end, extreme design projects for the local scene.

Clearly Jennifer is on the forefront of the design industry. With various experiences in the local and national arena, the Jennifer Adams Design Group is quickly becoming a recognized and sought after business. However, even with her busy schedule, this homespun girl strongly believes in supporting her local community. Recently she has chosen to serve on the boards of Self Enhancement Inc. and BecomeX, two programs working to enhance the life skills of others. Outside of designing, Jennifer enjoys real estate, golf and travel.

MARK SHAFFER, Wedding Editor

Shaffer is currently the president of WPLV Wedding Professionals of Las Vegas.

In 1980, traditional weddings in America began to take on a whole new set of formalities, that lead into the major planning of an event that would establish memories for a lifetime. That is when “wedding planning” as we know it today, actually began. And that is when Mark Shaffer began his wedding career. As a local DJ for clubs, radio stations and cruise ships, friends began asking Mark to be their entertainment for their wedding. As such, one lead to another, another and another and soon enough, Mark started his Wedding DJ business in 1986, that soon evolved into a crew of 15 dj’s performing and managing up to 60 weddings a month, known as All Star Dj’s.

From there, he found that almost all of the brides needed complete planning help, not just simply the entertainment. Mark created a 40 page, step -y-tep wedding planner for all his brides to fill out and so many were overjoyed they had an actual “Event Planner” in their hands, that they liked and it worked, leading to the hiring of All Star Dj’s and Wedding Hosts, to run their entire wedding.

The next ten years, and 1,000 weddings later, Mark had met hundreds of wedding services and wedding professionals. And after interacting and working event after event with so many brides and wedding professionals, Mark found himself in the center of a booming business. Perfectly situated between those brides and wedding professionals, along with communicating and problem solving on both sides of the business, in 1996, Mark pulled together all his wedding resources and launched a powerful Wedding Magazine that brought those Brides and Businesses together.

For the next 8 years, from 1996 to 2003, he expanded his publication to over 26 cities throughout the United States. Mark personally visited, opened and launched many different wedding markets from Boston, to Dallas, San Diego, Ft. Lauderdale, Phoenix, and Houston, Salt Lake, Atlanta, Miami, and every major city in the US, and of course his home, Las Vegas.

Planning, performing, hosting, and managing over 4,000 weddings, and assisting thousands of Wedding Professionals reach their goals with brides and their business led Mark to successfully launch WPLV – Wedding Professionals of Las Vegas in February of 2006.

Today, in the middle of a $60 billion industry, doing what he loves best -- helping brides and business’s reach their dreams and goals -- he now performs and manages only four select weddings per year, and serves as Speaker and President of WPLV with monthly luncheon network meetings for all Wedding Professionals of Las Vegas.
