Tigers' 1B Cabrera Departs

POSTED: 7:51 pm PDT August 29, 2008

(Sports Network) - Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera left Friday's 6-3 win over the Kansas City Royals due to a mild left pectoral strain.

Cabrera suffered the injury when his left arm collided with KC's Alberto Callaspo on a play at first in the third inning. He stayed in the game and finished 0-for-3 but departed in the top of the sixth after Detroit built a 6-1 lead an inning prior. He's listed as day-to-day.

Ryan Raburn took Cabrera's spot in the order and manned left field while Jeff Larish moved from third to first. Brandon Inge moved from catcher to third and Dane Sardinha took over behind the plate.

Cabrera is batting .287 with 28 home runs and 100 RBI on the season.
