Meredith Corporation/ KVVU FOX5 LAS VEGAS values a diverse work force.We are currently seeking a Full-Time Assistant Chief Engineer.Requirements for qualified candidates:Summary: Assist Chief Engineer with design, installation, operation and maintenance of all station technical equipment. Directly supervises Master Control Operators. Perform on-call emergency repair work. The position will be instrumental in the transition/conversion from analog to DTV/HDTV. Must have an understanding of the technology and a proficiency in maintaining of all equipment utilized iin a broadcast facility with a strong emphasis on all news, ENG (electronic news gathering) cameras (e.g. P2 technology), editing and other related equipment.
Experience: Prior television broadcast experience in Master Control preferred. Previous employment as an Assistant Chief Engineer or 3+ years as a senior maintenance technician in a broadcasting, production or institutional organization is preferred.Education: High school diploma or GED certificate preferred. SBE Certification a plus.Specific Abilities: Possess a good working understanding and knowledge of all FCC regulations concerning both DIGITAL Television broadcasting AND ANALOG, LPTV, and EAS.Skills:

- Required to take on-call duty for specified intervals. Must be detail oriented and highly accurate in record keeping and work habits. Strong verbal and writing skills. Must be comfortable working in a highly automated, highly computer intensive environment. Must be familiar with or be capable of learning many different software applications. Must be capable of operating and interpreting the readings of all monitoring and test equipment in the broadcast facility to ensure RF, audio, video and signal levels are in compliance with any standard, rule or accepted industry practice. Must be familiar or must become familiar with all FCC rules relating to television station operation. Must be able to make any adjustments necessary to keep station compliant with all FCC rules and regulations. Must be able to operate the EAS equipment. Must be able to work well under pressure and during equipment failure modes while maintaining a proper and accurate air signal at all times. Must possess and maintain good interpersonal skills in working with all departments at the station.
