Lexington, KY -- (Sports Network) - Hambletonian champ Deweycheatumnhowe added the Kentucky Futurity to his resume. The leading three-year-old trotter needed three heats to claim the final jewel in Trotting's Triple Crown.

Driven by co-owner and trainer Ray Schnittker, Deweycheatumnhowe allowed Celebrity Secret to set the pace in the two-horse third heat. Celebrity Secret was the 3-10 favorite and Deweycheatumnhowe was even-money.

The two horses raced neck and neck down the stretch at The Red Mile. Deweycheatumnhowe got up at the wire to post a head victory over Celebrity Secret. The time for the mile was 1:59 3/5.

"When he gets going he just glides," said co-owner Ted Gewertz.

In the first heat of the Futurity, Deweycheatumnhowe rallied from far back to defeat 12-1 longshot Clerk Magistrate by a head in the $273,600 opening heat. He covered the mile in 1:52 3/5.

For the $273,600 second heat Deweycheatumnhowe was the 3-10 favorite, but Celebrity Secret won by a neck over Crazed with the favorite third. John Campbell drove Celebrity Secret for trainer Staffan Lind and stopped the timer at 1:52 3/5.

Deweycheatumnhowe has won 21 of 23 races and with earnings of just over $3 million. His $2.1 million this year allows the three-year-old to join Donato Hanover as the only trotters to top $2 million in a season. Donato Hanover earned $2.3 million in 2007.

Deweycheatumnhowe was unable to sweep the Triple Crown when he sat out the opening leg, the Yonkers Trot. Napolean won the Yonkers, but did not make it to the Hambletonian final and did not start in the Kentucky Futurity.
