Actor Celebrated Comeback Film

Actor Corey Haim, who died in California on Wednesday morning, made one of his final public appearances on the red carpet in Las Vegas earlier this year.

Haim was here to promote what turned out to be one of his final films, “American Sunset.” He walked the red carpet in January at the premiere of another film, "Reach For Me," at the Las Vegas Hilton.

Haim, 38, described “American Sunset” as one of his comeback films, following a career slump that included his well-documented struggle with substance abuse. The film was one of his first starring roles in years.

In October, Haim also hosted a Halloween event at the Rio Hotel and Casino, celebrating with fans at the resort’s Voodoo Lounge.

"He brought his mom with him to Vegas," said a source for MORE. "He was well received by the ladies. He had a table by the side so he could overlook the Strip. He was pretty low-key."
