"Sex and the City: The Movie" made its big-screen premiere Monday night, but not in New York City?
Instead, the movie version of the hit television series debuted in London, with stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis all in attendance."Well, this is where our bosses told us to go and we are thrilled to do so," Parker told People magazine.
Cattrall didn't appear to be offended that the movie debuted in London, which she called a "home away from home.""I love New York, I live there, but I have this amazing affair with the U.K.," Cattrall told People.Parker drew extra attention at the premiere thanks to a hat resembling an acorn -- with detachable foliage -- teetering off of her head.Parker said that she and her co-stars look forward to bringing the film "home to America to its birthplace" in a few weeks. The television version of "Sex and the City" ran on HBO from 1998 to 2004. The film also stars series regulars Chris Noth and David Eigenberg, as well as "Dreamgirls" Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson."Sex and the City: The Movie" opens in theaters in the U.S. May 30.
