BOULDER CITY, Nev. -- A middle school teacher and youth soccer coach in Boulder City is facing 64 counts of possessing child pornography.

An anonymous letter led to the arrest of Charles Richard "Rick" Rogers, a Garrett Middle School teacher. Rogers was arrested Thursday afternoon and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

Authorities said the 46-year-old also coached youth soccer teams and spent more than two decades coaching the BC United club team before retiring last year.

Boulder City police said they found photos and videos at Rogers' home and on an electronic storage device that also contained his classroom materials.

Rogers was picked up by police as he left school Thursday afternoon and was placed under arrest following an interview with detectives. Police also searched his home, vehicle and the classroom where he teaches.

Rogers has worked for the Clark County School District since 1992.

A mugshot of Rogers was not immediately provided by police, and his name was not found in a search of Nevada's online Sex Offender Registry.

Boulder City is about 40 miles southeast of Las Vegas on Highway 95.
